Independence

pingtest.si and testhitrosti.si are not affiliated with any internet provider, with the Agency for Communication Networks and Services (AKOS) or with the Slovenian Consumers' Association (ZPS). Providers cannot pay for placement or influence the index. The site is funded by its monitoring subscription (for businesses and developers); the ping test and the index are free and ad-free.

What we measure, and from where

• Connection responsiveness and stability: latency, jitter, packet loss and bufferbloat, measured to your nearest edge node.
• Games and video calls: latency to popular game servers and video-call services.
• Edge network: measurement nodes in the EU and the US; the nearest one is selected automatically.

Data protection statement

• Raw IP addresses are not stored. The application handles your address in memory only (network lookup, rate limiting, at most 10 minutes). Web server logs contain a shortened address only (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /48).
• Test results stay in your browser unless you create a share link or explicitly contribute them to the index.
• An index contribution holds only the network (ASN), provider, node and measured values. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawn by unticking "Contribute".
• AKOS complaint-prep measurements stay in your browser; we keep only a summary with a verification code.
